Operation: 34--Rogue

Next up on the list of characters for Operation: 34 who have special meaning for me, Rogue from Marvel Comics X-Men.

Ah, Rogue.  She wasn't my first toon crush.  When I was a six or seven year old back in the 80's I fell for all of them almost at once.  Cheetara, Teela, She-Ra, Janine Melnitz.  I loved them all and still do to this day.  But Rogue was the one I fell hardest for.  It was 1992, I was eleven years old, when I first got a copy of X-Men #1, October 1991.  The GOOD print, with the giant gatefold cover and all the bonus pin ups.  Jim Lee's art just blew me away, and Rogue stood out to me even more than that beautiful red head Jean Grey of the half naked ninja, Psylocke.  Her wild hair, her beautiful green eyes, and that form fitting outfit.  Add to that the sweet vulnerability of her mutant affliction and the southern accent and I was completely smitten.  That's why Rogue always has been and always will be my number one favorite cartoon hottie.
